A worker was given a newly produced high-powered tool. However, he had two problems. First, he wasn’t entirely sure what this tool was capable of doing, and second, he didn’t fully understand how to use it.
Jesus has given to us, his disciples, the gift and power of the Holy Spirit, but we don’t necessarily realise what we have been given or how to fully co-operate with the gift. The advancing of the kingdom of God in our land, and the great need for healing in the lives of so many people, requires that we come to understand what has been bestowed on us and how to partner with the Spirit and release his healing, liberating power in the authority of Jesus name!
'God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him' (Acts 10:38)
Now God has anointed us from wherever we come from with the same Holy Spirit, and access to the same power in order to bring about the same results of healing and freedom.
Jesus healed the sick, drove out demons, and even raised the dead with his disciples present with the view that one day they would do the same works as he did. And they did (Acts 5:16; 9:32-40)! As Jesus demonstrated the kingdom of God breaking in through him, and the authority the Father had given him, so he was always training his true followers to do likewise.
The Lord is looking for people today who will believe him, align with him and under him, and be filled with the Holy Spirit and power, who will then do these works in obedience to his commands (Luke 9:1-2).
